Much like when I was in highschool, or college for that matter, my weekends give me a chance to rejuvenate my energies. I create things or catch up with a hobby that I can’t do often. This weekend’s activity was knitting.

I taught myself to knit during the first year of college. I grew up crocheting, just like my mother. However, she didn’t know how to knit so I wanted to learn how to. I bought myself a video tape, yes a video tape, and two beginner knitting books. It wasn’t very difficult. I learned the difference between purling and knitting in one day, and I knitted myself a hat and a scarf. I wanted to do more but a sweater took too long. I am still learning different styles and patterns. I decided to try a check pattern with my hat.

Anyway, this weekend’s project started with this beautiful yarn.

I love the colors in it. It reminded me of sunshine and flowers. I found flowers funny because it reminds me of hippies. Hippies in the sense of peace and love. I do look a little strange with the color shirt so I beg your forgiveness since I am not a fashion designer.

Again, it was extremely fun creating something without photoshop this weekend :-).

I know that I am truly lucky and no matter how many mistakes/regrets that I may have had, I realized that I learned from every one of them.
