I hate using a mouse. I loathe using a mouse. I haven’t used one on a daily basis since I was 15 maybe. The first toy I got that changed my design dependencies on a mouse was the Intuos 2 9 x 12. It was a gift from my first employer, John.

It’s not even available anymore. I loved all the shortcuts and I could trace my illustrations by placing them under the sheet attached.

Anyway, since the 9 x 12 was much too large to carry around. I purchased an intuos 3 4 x 6. I loved it!

So my intuos 3 died last week I tweeted it here.

so tonight, my intuos 3 4×5 died.. I reinstalled my intuos 2 9×12 (ancient) and tomorrow I will be getting a intuos 4 *sigh* #fb

As an emergency I used my backup 9 x 12 intuos 2. It was too large for me and seemed impractical to use with my laptop so… I decided to get the brand new intuos 4. It’s amazing.

The first thing that caught my eye was the branding of course, and I always wanted the new one.

What I like about this? Well I can be left handed or right handed. Like ambigrams work it can be used on both sides, well the side you set it up as.

I love the sensitivity, you can set up the buttons as previous versions but this is a lot more sleek in design. “The shape and surface alike have been completely re-engineered to enable ergonomic, consistent strokes, even over long periods of time. (wacom.com)”

I love the speed ring. The pen stand has also doubles as a holder to store the pen nibs. I don’t have the illuminated function because I have the smallest size. Check out more features at the wacom site.
