Most of us spend this day going to the beach, or having BBQs. However, “Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 31 in 2010). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. ” wiki

I’d like to extend my appreciation of the military services for protecting this country so that we might have our freedom to have days like these to spend with our friends and families.

Today I spent today at my friend Marvin’s place – the guy from my April Fools Day post. Yes, I took two buses and a subway ride to Queens (which wasn’t that bad actually). Marvin’s an amazing cook (so is his younger brother who did the Potato Salad and all of the grilling). I hung out again with some of his friends, who seem to be really amazing people and I had a great time! Here are some photos that I took of the experience. I got food happy and posted some on my eat.ly. This really brought out my inner fat kid.

I posted some of the photos here for those of you who aren’t on my facebook list. However, feel free to join Design Lady NYC group. Cheers! Let me know how your Memorial Day went.
