A few nights ago I discovered Varsano’s Chocolate. An absolutely adorable candy spot in the west village (172 W 4th street).

It boasts delicious chocolate that’s hand dripped daily.

I went there with Jackson (roommate from college) who’s visiting for a couple days.

One thing that you didn’t know about me: I didn’t start indulging chocolate until my post college years.  So my chocolate intrigue is still new and absolutely rabid. My palette is still discovering this sweet, decadent phenomena and sometimes I can’t have enough of it.

I met the owner Marc who has been creating these delightful experience since 1986 — almost as old as I am. He said usually he doesn’t allow photos but I was incredibly sweet that he allowed it (hey his words and Jackson agreed ha). He was also closing up but allowed us to ooo and ahhh at the creations.

I chose two of his “world famous” picks and 2 amaretto dark chocolate along with cocoa almond and milk chocolate malt balls. I must say that they are incredibly addictive! This place is dangerous for my palette, but perfect for you!

Be sure to check it out if you live in NYC 172 W 4th street.
