Hello! I haven’t updated in a long time as you know. I have been abit busy with all the things happening around the city and deciding my paths on life. I’ve considered many things including becoming a nun and traveling as a missionary all over the world. Sadly to say, I will not be doing this. Instead, I will be giving back to others by supporting charitable organizations near me. I will support cancer organizations by running races (like the Komen Greater NYC race for the cure that I will be running on this upcoming Sunday).
The photo above is from the West Indian Day Parade that I went to yesterday. This weekend, I basically took it easy. I traveled to Connecticut to visit a friend, I wrote things and also decided to be creative and started sewing a wristlet (wallet/purse) pattern for a boutique that I discussed with a friend to start.
Yesterday’s parade was great!
We went to the parade abit late but I was happy to get Caribbean food and see very colorful costumes. I also had some ideas for next year I really hope that those get pulled through!
In other news… I am getting a new laptop. I had one for 4 years almost… It was 17 inches. The new one will be much smaller and seems like a monster laptop already. I am purchasing a new one because I want to get something to carry to the Adobe Max conference that is super portable. Everyone’s going to ask why i didn’t get a mac (I will give the same excuses) however, I am not getting a mac mostly because of a commercial I saw this morning that had blatant lies about Windows.
(video might not show if you are getting this from a ffeed so please click here for entry)
This in the comment area was worth mentioning:
Being able to upgrade your hardware or even handpick each part is not a problem……PC’s are for people who know what they are doing and mac’s are for those who don’t have a clue.
The laptop I ended up getting cost $1,149.95 (extended price – I actually paid less).
A Mac that’s brand new that comes anywhere close to the spec cost roughly: $1,748.00 (this is without the taxes and such).
