Raced for the cure!I want to thank everyone who supported my race. I sent emails this morning and I feel like continually doing so. The race was the most difficult 3 miles that I have ever ran. You may not know but I was sick on Thursday. I left work early and was sort of stuck at home on friday because I almost fainted in the shower.

I would have to say: I HATE STAYING AT HOME AND I WILL TAKE MY DAY JOB ANYDAY!

It was so boring with trash tv and it doesn’t help when these commercials appear saying things like, “Tired of being at home,” “Want to start a new career?”

Anyway, the race:

I was sick, I basically drugged myself with theraflu and all sorts of Vitamin C that I could find. I only cared that I could breathe but it was painful when I breathed out and my mouth got dry very quickly. When I saw the 2 mile mark I thought that I had already passed it and I was really angry for running at the pace that I did… I found out later that I ran a 7′ 11″ mile for that section.

My average run:

3.31 mi on 9/13/2009 at 9:16 AM with a pace of 7’58″/mi http://nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikeplus/language_tunnel?continueURL=http://nikerunning.nike.com/n/r/{locale}/1679039187/940209389/?sitesrc=fbk_ab_plus

I finished in 25ish minutes if you calculate it. I ran further because I was actually searching for a port-o-potty (yah I forgot that drinking too much Vitamin C in form of Grapefruit juice can do that – I know TMI!!! (too much info)).

I stopped at 3 miles because I felt like my legs wouldnt do more with what little oxygen they were getting. I saw Erick and he tried to help me push on (haha I would have finished before him). Then I saw Rob on the sidelines cheering me on, I ran further but my body stopped again. When I saw that the finish line wasn’t very far, I sped on and finished hard. Haha I need to time myself again when I am better.

I am happy that more of our company ran this year. Congrats to Erick, Erin, Sebastian, Yvonne and Kumiko for running. Some of us were actually so dedicated that we ran on the West Side Hwy for weeks to practice.

Here’s photos from the race:

SNC00067Plans for the future?

Well, I am certainly keeping up with this “sculpt my body” mentality. I’m pushing it to see how far I can go and being dedicated to it as I can. I won’t stop like I did last year.

I hope you all join me in a healthy lifestyle starting today :-).
