Full day with the Android
My close friend and fellow geekstar, Lucky Gadget Girl also known as passionsista on twitter, has been telling me how amazing her Android phone was and convinced me to get away from my fashionable red (because I like red) Samsung Rant to an Android phone. I’ve really had no reason to switch but yesterday I decided to get one.
She was thrilled when I decided on the Samsung Moment.
I walked into the store a few blocks over in my neighborhood and went to Julio (guy at the counter) and said, “I want an Android phone, I’d like the Samsung Moment.” There were no questions asked.
I spent a couple minutes playing with it and loved it.
The reason why I decided on the Samsung moment was the slide out keyboard and camera with flash.
The Keyboard: Since it’s cold in NYC right now, whenever I’ve used the iPod Touch and realized that my fingers are extremely numb when exposed to the air. With my Rant, I was able to type with my gloves. I can’t use the iPod Touch’s screen while wearing gloves. I also figured I’d not like to be stuck using the touch screen only if it’s cold out.
The Camera with flash: Well, I go out and sometimes it’s at night — succinct.
While using the phone for a full day…
Here are a few screen captures that I made.
horizontal screen
opened menu
dictionary app that I downloaded from the marketplace
downloaded the NYC subway map (naturally)
By the way here’s how to get screen captures on your Android phone, thanks @passionsista.
