I finally moved out of my old place and into my new place and the aftermaths are: aches all over, a few blisters and lost time.
I am also consolidating because since my kitchen is smaller I can only have fewer things which means less cooking :(. I happen to have two full shelves of seasonings which I found amusing. Thanks Clarence (guy who lived there before me) for leaving me even more seasonings.
There was minimal negatives that occurred: The cleaner was very late and con Edison did not turn on my power until the day after so I stayed elsewhere for the first day. I made 3 trips with the uHaul (way to go movers – yah none of movers showed up). It was great because it cost only $54.00 that included insurance and furniture pads that I didn’t need.
I finally got the electricity running the day after I was supposed to move and when I checked the fridge this is the surprise that I saw:
The cleaner did not do a good job. I guess she did as much as she could with minimal light however when she rejected the tip that I gave her maybe it’s because she knew she left some things? She was nice regardless.. the Kitchen was the only thing that wasn’t so good…
Eh who knows… There is still a foul smell in the kitchen so I am going to pick up some arm & hammer. My bath and body works candles can only do so much..
I got help mounting my bed and slept heavenly last night when I went to bed. The Ikea king-size did fit. I mounted my book shelves and desk yesterday. Everything just came into place when those things were set up.
I love the neighborhood. Lots of artsy things and gallery showings. There are even restaurants that I know that I will frequent.
I am so excited about living on my own finally. Wow I really have my own place… Yah if it’s messy, it’s my fault.
This morning I woke up at 5:45AM thinking I had overslept but it was actually because my room was very well lit with the sunrise… It helps my mood because I got into work an hour earlier than I normally do.
